After horses and riders were attacked by a dog on Camber beach on New Year’s Day, Sussex Police are hunting for its owner.

Last Saturday morning (December 31)a number of horses were being exercised on the beach when a black and white English bull terrier chased and leapt up at two of the horses.

It then turned on two other horses, leaping up and trying to bite both horses and riders.

A grey horse was bitten on its right shoulder, and needed veterinary hospital treatment for the wound.

Sussex Police are now trying to track down the dog’s owner.

He was described as white and with dark hair.

He was wearing a red coat, yellow scarf, blue jeans and wellington boots.

He was said to be accompanied by a woman.
