A young woman has had to undergo specialist surgery following reports of a fight in Bexhill on Easter Sunday (April,16).

Police were called to Eversley Road around 2.30am where people were apparently fighting in the street.

The 20-year-old woman sustained a serious laceration to her face during the incident and was taken to Conquest Hospital.

Two men, both aged 23, were also taken to hospital with various injuries.

Police also said the fighting between various groups spread to nearby streets, while a shop window was smashed at La Collina Gardens in St Leonards Road.

Officers want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen any incidents leading up to the fight.
