A lorry has overturned on the A23 at Pyecombe, colliding with another car.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the A23, at 9.07am this morning (May 18).
Sussex Police said the lorry had shed its load of rocks after the collision with a BMW car, blocking the road and causing significant delays on the southbound carriageway.
The incident took place just north of the A273 Clayton Hill junction.
Police said the road was reopened at noon, after it had been closed for nearly three hours.
A police spokesperson said:
“A crane was brought in to right the lorry and the road had to be examined for damage before being reopened.
“The driver of the BMW suffered a minor hand injury. The lorry driver was uninjured.”
Witnesses have been asked to contact Sussex Police at their website, quoting serial 241 of 18/05.
