A woman has been attacked in an alleyway in Littlehampton just before midnight last Friday (September, 1).

An attempt was made to unfasten the 27-year-old victim’s jeans, and she was left with scratches and blows to her head, before her attacker ran off.

It happened in the alleyway adjoining Clifton Road and Bayford Road.

The suspect was dressed in a black hooded jacket with a white zip.

Detective Sergeant Simon Smith, of the Worthing investigation team said:

“This offence, which involved someone unknown to the victim, is clearly of concern, however I would urge people to be alert rather than alarmed.”
