A cyclist in his 70s has been taking to hospital after falling unconscious when he hit the kerb near Hailsham.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, attended the scene following the incident shortly after 11.30am yesterday morning (Tuesday, 26).

It happened as the cyclist was riding along Grove Hill between Horam and Hellingly, and he was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

Police said no other vehicle was thought to have been involved.

Grove Hill was closed to traffic while emergency services were at the scene, and re-opened around 2.15pm.
