Police have renewed their appeal to find a kayaker who may have witnessed an incident on Shoreham Harbour beach.
The force are investigating reports of a man who indecently exposed himself and grabbed at a vulnerable woman on the beach on Tuesday, June 13.
Sussex Police said the kayaker chased a man off who grabbed a woman as she tried to leave the area.
A 42-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and attempted rape.
He was released under investigation.
Sussex Police have asked the kayaker to come forward as they believe he may have important information that could assist with their investigation.
Detective Constable Vicky Stenning said:
“He is white and well tanned – he has been described as a ‘surfer type’.
“His kayak is in a camouflage pattern and he fixed it on to the roof rack of a white van before driving off after the incident.”
The kayaker has been asked to contact Sussex Police on 101, quoting the reference number 989 of 13/06.
