Police are investigating after two teenage boys were attacked and struck by belts during an an attempted robbery as they were walking in Forest Row.

The 16 and 17-year-old victims were approached by three suspects just after midnight on Saturday, September 23 in Forest Way.

The group demanded the boys hand over their phones and wallets, before taking their belts off and striking them.

The boys ran away but were followed for a short while by their attackers, who then gave up and made off empty handed.

Police said the victims were not hurt.

The suspects, all believed to be teenage boys according to police, were wearing dark hooded tops.
