Schools in Hastings could win the chance to take their maths classes to a crazy golf course.

Hastings Adventure Golf in Pelham Place is holding a competition to win a practical lesson for an entire class at the attraction.

Topics such as geometry, trigonometry, fractions, measurements and distance will be featured in the lesson, which corresponds with the national curriculum.

The contest is being held to mark World Maths Day, which takes place this Sunday (October, 15).

Kate Richards, manager at Hastings Adventure Golf and former maths teacher, said:

“We’ve developed a range of maths lessons for primary and secondary curriculums complete with worksheets and key learning points that turn the game of crazy golf into a practical maths learning experience.

“I know from experience, that demonstrating maths in a practical way is often the key to their learning success.

“It’s also a ready-made, planned lesson – so teachers won’t have any prep work!”

Those looking to enter are being asked to email [email protected], explaining why their class deserves to win the prize.

The competition is open to classes of up to 33 pupils in the Hastings area.
