British Transport Police are appealing for help in tracing a woman following a transphobic incident on a train to Brighton.

The victim, a woman in her 50’s, boarded the train and was subject to abuse by another woman.

This verbal attack was both transphobic and homophobic.

An argument then ensued between the two women.

The women were travelling on board the 4:52am service from Victoria to Brighton on 6th September.

The incident took place sometime between 5:45am and 6:25am, near to Gatwick Airport station.

The suspect is described as slim, in her late 20s and with long brown hair.

Police say at present there is no CCTV images that are able to be released.

British Transport officers are keen to speak with anyone who knows someone matching this description.
