A man has suffered a black eye and a chipped tooth in an assault in Hastings.

The 26-year-old was walking home on Amherst Road at around 2pm on Saturday (October, 14) when he was punched in the face.

Police have described the suspect as a white man, aged between 25 and 35, 5’7″ and of slim wiry build with dark short cropped hair.

He was wearing a light coloured loose fitted casual shirt.

Police are keen to hear from a woman who gave the victim a lift to London Road following the incident.

The victim also said there were two other women nearby at around the same time.
