A volunteer with the Samaritans who died after being attacked in her own home in Brighton has been identified as 46-year-old Jillian Howell.
Police were called to Sandgate Road on Thursday morning (October, 26), where she was found with multiple stab wounds.
A 51-year-old man from Seaford arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.
Jillian’s family have released the following statement:
“Jill was a kind, gentle and loving sister, auntie and friend.
“We are shocked and heartbroken by her loss.
“She touched many lives in her volunteer work with the Samaritans and was always helping others.
“She loved to travel and was a passionate Albion fan and season ticket holder.
“She lived life to the fullest and was dearly loved by her friends and family.”
