Police are investigating after three men broke into a house in St Leonards, damaging property and threatening a teenage girl.

They forced their way through the front door of the property in Fern Road with faces covered around 9.45pm on Sunday night (October, 29).

Police said the 16-year-old girl was alone in the house, and although she wasn’t harmed, she was very shocked and shaken up.

The men went into various rooms, damaging the TV and other fittings.

Officers said one of the men was wearing a black tracksuit and balaclava, while another was wearing a red coloured hooded top.

Detective Constable Julian Stokes said:

“The motive for this incident is not clear at present and we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, and from anyone with other information.”
