Police are advising people to keep security precautions on their homes following nine house burglaries in East Sussex in one day.

Incidents were reported between 8am and 6pm on Tuesday (November, 7) in the Polegate, Westham and Bexhill areas.

Police have warned that the burglars could strike elsewhere.

Detectives are also appealing for information about the occupants of a car who were seen acting suspiciously near one of the burglaries.

The car was reported to be a dark coloured Audi, possibly an A4, with distinctive rear tinted windows, roof rails, alloy wheels and LED headlights.

Officers are advising you to keep all valuables out of sight and out of reach, lock all the doors and windows when out, and have an intruder alarm.
