The West Sussex Coroner has been told Sussex Police’s full file into the Shoreham Airshow crash is now with prosecutors.

Penelope Schofield said she has written to the families of the 11 men who died in 2015 when a vintage jet crashed into the A27.

She said:

“The full file is now with the CPS [Crown Prosecution Service] and Sussex Police await a CPS decision as to whether or not any criminal charges are to be brought.

“I will of course keep the matter under continuous review.”

Ms Schofield indicated a full inquest is set to take place in September 2018, but this may have to be suspended if the CPS decides to bring criminal charges.

A third pre-inquest review is currently scheduled for Wednesday, January 24 at Crawley Coroner’s Court, where Ms Schofield said a further update will be given.
