A man from Hurstpierpoint has been assaulted and left with injuries to his arms while walking his dog in the village.

The man in his 20s was in Willow Way when he was approached by another man.

Police said there was then a brief fight between the two men, and the victim was left with the injuries from what is believed to have been a knife.

It follows the incident around 7.25am on Saturday, January 6.

Detective Constable Rebecca Buckley said:

“We are appealing for any witnesses of the altercation to come forward either to us or through the Crimestoppers website.

“We have not received any other reports of this nature and we are investigating all lines of enquiry with regards to this incident.”

The suspect has been described as wearing a black ski mask, black jacket and black loose-fitted tracksuit bottoms.
