Sussex Police are warning drug users about a strong pill taken in Petworth believed to be MDMA after someone collapsed at the weekend.

Officers were called to Market Square around 12.45am on Sunday morning, where the 22-year-old man from Chichester had collapsed.

Police said he was in a serious condition, but he has now improved and is making a recovery.

Detective Constable Andrea Watts said:

“Taking drugs in any form is dangerous, particularly when the user does not know the purity of the drug.

“We are issuing a warning about any MDMA pills orange ‘TESLA’ tablet.”

A 23-year-old from Chichester has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug, and a 17-year-old boy from Petworth has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug.

They have both been released under investigation.
