Police have described an attack on a young man in Hastings as ‘vicious and cowardly’ after he was struck with a bottle, and left with serious facial injuries including a fractured eye socket.

It happened to the 18-year-old as he was walking home from a friend’s house, and was in Bohemia Road when the assault took place between 7.45pm and 8.15pm on Sunday night (January, 21).

Police said he was badly beaten during the attack, and along with his other injuries, also had a suspected broken nose.

A small amount of cash was also stolen.

Police said there are believed to be two suspects, both described as white men aged under 40, and of a muscular build.

They were both wearing dark hooded tops, dark tracksuit bottoms, and black scarves over their faces.
