Police are investigating a knifepoint robbery at a shop in St Leonards where two men demanded money.

They entered Food City in Caves Road around 6.30pm on Monday (February, 12) with at least one of them brandishing a knife, according to police.

The shopkeeper managed to force the suspects away, and they fled the scene with two bottles of alcohol, but no cash.

Police said he was left shaken but unhurt.

A 17-year-old boy from St Leonards has been arrested on suspicion of robbery following the incident, and has been released under investigation.

Police are also looking for a man in connection with the incident, who has been described as white, of a Mediterranean appearance, slim build, and was wearing a black shiny North Face puffa jacket with a grey hood, dark trousers, and black trainers.
