Police have arrested and charged two men with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Durrington.

The 39-year-old local victim was taken to hospital seriously injured following the incident in Carisbrooke Drive on February 20.

Police said he has now been released from hospital, following a week of treatment and care.

Tommy Howlett, 24, a roofer of no fixed address, and Bradley Jake Allen, 26, a carpenter of Orkney Court, Worthing, are also accused of blackmailing the victim.

Both men are also charged with two counts of criminal damage, while Mr Howlett alone is charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

They have both been remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on March 27.

Officers are still appealing for witnesses to the stabbing, and said they believe a group of between six and eight people may be involved.
