A 16-year-old boy from Lewes has been taken to hospital following an incident in the town involving a large group of youths.

The teenager was left with a knife wound to his left leg, while two others had minor injuries after the incident in Eastgate Street.

Police said around 20 youths had gathered outside the Waitrose supermarket before the stabbing happened around 6pm on Saturday (March, 3).

The victim has now been allowed home, according to officers.

Police have arrested two teenage boys, aged 14 and 15, on suspicion of causing GBH with intent and affray.

The pair, who are both from Brighton, remain in police custody.
