An elderly pedestrian who was involved in a collision with a car in Eastbourne has died in hospital.
Albert Smith, 91, of Wannock Road in the town, initially went home following the collision in Royal Parade on February 11, but later that evening he was taken to Eastbourne DGH.
He remained there until he died on Monday (March, 5), more than three weeks after the incident.
Police said he was taken home by a 70-year-old woman from Hailsham who was driving the vehicle, a Renault Scenic.
Sergeant Alan Spicer said:
“We are trying to establish the circumstances of the collision and would like to hear from anyone who saw it, especially those who stopped to help.”
Anyone with information is asked to report it online here, or call 101 quoting Operation Jodrell.
