Sean Parker has been jailed.

A man from Worthing has been jailed for raping a woman and sexually assaulting another at a bar he ran.

Sean Parker, 42, of Poulters Lane in West Tarring, was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison following the attacks at the ‘Seafish’ music venue in Aldwick Road, Bognor.

Police said both victims had been guests who had stayed on at the bar after events had ended, and were attacked by Parker as they went to sleep in bedrooms above the venue.

Detective Constable Gaye Moore said:

“These offences took place in very similar circumstances.

“He [Parker] had clearly taken advantage of their tiredness, the fact that all parties had had something to drink during the evening, and their being in unfamiliar circumstances, to abuse them.

“Both victims gave evidence at his trial, and we admire their steadfastness in doing so, which helped enable justice to be done.”

Parker was found guilty of one count of rape, and two counts of sexual assault, and was sentenced on Friday (March, 9) at Portsmouth Crown Court.

He will also be a registered sex offender for life.

Police said following the second incident, the ‘Seafish’ was issued with a closure notice for being a premises associated with nuisance and disorder.
