A new 35-metre high wheel is set to open in Worthing today (Saturday, 24).

A 105-foot crane was brought in earlier this week to build the temporary attraction for the town, which is based in Steyne Gardens.

Worthing Borough Council said it’s expected to generate revenue for local businesses, as well as thousands of pounds in rent for the council, while also boosting tourism.

It’s reported those using the attraction will be able to see for up to ten miles in the distance.

The 24-pod wheel, run by Manchester-based The Giant Wheel Company, will operate between 10am and 10pm seven days a week, and will be in place until April 15.

The council said journeys will take around ten minutes, while a standard ticket will cost £5, with concessions for children and OAPs.
