A young man has been attacked by another man in St Leonards who then stole his cycle.

The 18-year-old victim, who is local, was approached by a man while he was waiting for a friend in Brittany Road at 11.30pm on Friday night (April, 20).

The man demanded the cycle he was riding, before grabbing the victim in a headlock, throwing him off his cycle, and then riding off on it.

Police said the victim was left shaken, but unhurt.

The man has been described as white, in his late 20s, 5’6″ tall, of a slim build, with short mousy hair combed to the side, and tattoos on the right side of his neck and down his right forearm.

He was wearing a grey jumper with the hood up, blue Nike jeans and blue or black trainers.

The cycle was a grey and silver Carrera Vendetta with green front forks.
