A Brighton man has had to go to hospital for treatment for serious head injuries.

The man was found unconscious in Brighton on Saturday evening (May 26).

The 27-year-old man, had left friends in London Road.

He had taken a side street, near to The Level around 11.15pm, he remembers being aware of being shouted at by a number of people.

However, the next thing he recalls is being helped into a taxi and taken home.

The following day the man noticed he was not feeling well.

He attended the Royal Sussex County Hospital where he was admitted for treatment for serious, but not life-threatening head injuries.

Sussex police believe the man may have been attacked from behind.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
