
The A259 at Colworth Lane was closed this lunchtime (Thursday, January 11) after a lorry caught fire, spilling approximately 40 litres of diesel on to the lay-by.
Crews from Chichester, Bognor Regis and an environmental protection unit from Storrington attended the fire that started just after 10.30am.
A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said:
"Upon arrival fire crews found the cab of a heavy goods vehicle well alight with a diesel spill on the layby."
They have since confirmed that nobody was injured during the incident.
