We will find out this evening if Worthing town centre will become a 20mph zone.
The meeting at St. Paul’s in Chapel Road at 7.00pm has been brought forward a month because interest in the topic was so high. It’s after the results of a public consultation revealed that the majority are against the idea. Worthing County Local Committee Chairman Paul High said:
“We have scheduled this meeting as early as we could to coincide with all the results being counted and verified. We have had thousands of responses from the people of Worthing, so thank you for everyone who took part. Once the result is known on November 19, the committee will consider if this proposal should progress any further or not.”
Elsewhere on the agenda, the committee will decide on applications to the Community Initiative Fund.
