Groups across West Sussex are eligible to apply for a share of the half-a-million pound Operation Watershed fund.

It is the third time West Sussex County Council has run the fund, which is designed to help areas of tackle surface and groundwater flooding. Community and volunteer groups, and town and parish councils within the county can all apply for a share of the cash. County council cabinet member for highways and transport, John O’Brien said:

“Operation Watershed helped protect thousands of homes from flooding and other flood related issues. “It was so well received by communities and we were keen to bring it back again. “If your community has a flood-related issue which you think Operation Watershed can help with, please get in touch.”

Between 2013 and 2015, Operation Watershed helped 287 community flooding projects around the county. Applications need support from a local elected county councillor.
