A school for witches and wizards is opening for a live action roleplay event in Sussex today (August, 11).
The Bothwell School of Witchcraft at Herstmonceux Castle is East Sussex’s real-life answer to Hogwarts.
It is inviting guests over-18 to stay there for three days, to see what it would really be like to live like a witch or wizard.
Those taking part will be given a character and some basic elements of their costume, and will be able to explore the rest of the site on their own.
They will also be sorted into one of the ‘School Houses’, take part in magic lessons, and stay in the 15th century castle.
The different houses will compete against each other, and enjoy the school’s lavish banquet.

The project was launched on Kickstarter – organisers have said enough money has been raised to run one event each year.
