More Radio’s Christmas Toy Appeal 2017

This Christmas, almost a third of children in our area will be living in poverty. Most of them won’t be expecting a visit from Father Christmas.

Each year the More Radio Toy Appeal lends a helping hand. We encourage our listeners to donate a new toy suitable for deserving young children and teenagers, that will bring a smile to children of all ages in Sussex who may otherwise have a Christmas to forget.

This year was our most successful appeal, whereby 2,831 toys were kindly donated.

All the toys and gifts collected have been distributed  to disadvantaged children across our area. These are children who might not otherwise have received a present at Christmas, they may be spending the festive season in hospital, or suffer from a physical or learning disability.

Charities and organisations that benefitted included:

Children’s Services, West Sussex County Council. | Chaos | The Empty Plate |
Kamelia Kids Day Nursery | Chestnut Tree House | Salvation Army | The Community House |
Guildcare’s The Ashdown Centre | Love Your Hospital | Christmas Wishes |
Landport Foodbank | Kangaroos | Chailey Heritage Foundation | Embrace |
The Children with Cancer Fund | Community Stuff CIC and Seaside Hub CIO | Demelza| Childrens Respite Trust | East Sussex Fostering | Raise me up charity |
Charity for Kids | Dom’s FOOD Mission

Thank you so much for your support with our appeal!
