A man has suffered a fractured jaw after an assault in Worthing.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was walking towards his van with a friend around 9.30am on Friday (November, 2).

As he reached the vehicle, which was parked in Cross Street, he was approached by another man.

A verbal and physical altercation occurred and the victim was taken to hospital with a fractured jaw and broken tooth.

The suspect was described as an Asian man, in his mid-20s, with a short beard and short dark hair.

He was wearing a khaki green hooded top, dark jeans and trainers.

A 25-year-old man from Worthing was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm.

He was released under investigation.
