Two teenagers were stabbed in the early hours of New Year’s Day in Brighton.
Both victims were taken to hospital after the incident which occurred in Temple Street shortly before 4am on Tuesday (January, 1).
One of the teenagers, a 17-year-old local boy, sustained a wound to the chest.
The other, an 18-year-old local man, sustained wounds to his right arm and left hand.
Police said neither of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.
Alex Besmir, a maintenance employee, of Temple Street, Brighton, was arrested and remanded in custody to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (January, 2).
The 36-year-old, charged with committing grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, has since been further remanded ahead of a further hearing at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday (January, 30).
Police said there were a number of people in the area at the time.
They are asking for any witnesses to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 467 of 01/01.
