Two people have sustained serious injuries following a head-on collision in Burgess Hill on Friday (January, 4).
The crash happened shortly after 6pm at the junction of the A273 Jane Murray Way and the approach road to the Mid Sussex retail park.
The driver of a red Citroen C4, a 47-year-old local man, sustained chest injuries.
The other driver of a red Vauxhall Corsa, a 44-year-old local woman, suffered suspected multiple fractures.
Firefighters helped release both casualties, who were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Air ambulance for Kent, Surrey and Sussex also provided medical assistance and the road was closed in both directions.
Police are asking anyone with any information or anyone with dash cam footage to report it online or call 101, quoting Operation Silverfish.
