Three arrested in connection with distraction burglaries in Worthing

Police are investigating a collision with a pedestrian in Crowborough.

Three men have been arrested in connection with a series of distraction burglaries in Worthing.

A member of public notified police to three men acting suspiciously at a property in Clive Avenue, Goring.

The report was made around midday on Wednesday (January, 6), and by 12.40pm police attended the address.

The owner of the property said two men had entered saying they needed to check a water leak.

They were described as both being white, one of them aged around 35-years-old and the other around 40-years-old.

Another man was reported to be waiting in a van outside.

The vehicle was located shortly after in Oldlands Way, Bognor, and the three occupants were arrested.

They were also suspected to be linked to three burglaries on the same day.

A 41-year-old man from Cambridgeshire, a 46-year-old man from Goring and a 19-year-old man from Goring were arrested on suspicion of two counts of burglary dwelling and theft and a further two counts of burglary dwelling with intent to steal.

The three remain in custody whilst the investigations continue.
