A man has been seriously injured after his car left the road and overturned near Hassocks.

The 55-year-old driver, from Portslade, was in a black Suzuki sports utility vehicle.

He was travelling on the B2112 New Road at Clayton when the crash happened in the early hours of Saturday (February, 9).

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance attended, but he was taken by road to hospital in Brighton.

He is currently being treated and no one else was hurt.
