Police are investigating the death of a van driver yesterday (Sunday, 12) after his vehicle went over a cliff near Brighton.

Officers were called to the cliff east of Brighton Marina, close to Roedean School, shortly after 6.30am following reports a silver Vauxhall van had gone over the edge.

Police said emergency services attended, but the driver died at the scene.

Officers said his next of kin have been informed.

Part of the undercliff was closed yesterday while the van was recovered and investigation work was carried out at the scene.
