Man attacked by group in Worthing with lengths of wood

A teenager has reportedly been robbed by a group of men in Crawley.

Police are investigating after a man was attacked in Worthing by a group of men who struck him with lengths of wood.

Officers were called to Gratwicke Road around midday on Saturday (May, 18) following reports of an altercation.

The 23-year-old victim was assaulted by a group of five men, and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police said he was later discharged.

DS Alex Lowe said:

“The victim was lucky not to have received a more serious injury from the assault.

“I am urging any witnesses of the attack or those who have information which may assist with identifying the suspects to come forward to us.”
