A mother has been kicked in the face and robbed while out shopping with her four children in Horsham.

The 32-year-old victim was walking with her children in North Street shortly before 5pm yesterday (Wednesday, 22) when some shopping fell from a baby buggy.

Police said as she bent down to pick it up, a man, who initially appeared to help her, kicked her in the face and made off with a bag containing food and tobacco.

Officers said the victim was left bruised and shaken as a result.

The suspect was described as white, in his mid 20s, and with a patchy beard.

He was wearing a black baseball cap, ripped green t-shirt, a cream jacket, dark jeans and dirty white trainers.

Police said he smelt strongly of alcohol and body odour.
