Disabled man’s specially adapted bicycle stolen in Worthing whilst in hospital

A paralysed man in his 60s has had his bicycle stolen whilst he was in hospital in Worthing.

The 66-year-old local man left it at the junction of Eirene Road and Eirene Avenue after being rushed to hospital following an accident around 11am on Monday, May 20.

When he returned the same day he discovered it was gone.

Police said the bike was the victim’s main mode of transport and had been specially adapted to him as he is paralysed.

The silver Claud Butler model came with a bag on the frame, accessories, and had been made with all the brakes and gears on the left hand side.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen the bike or who may have been offered it for sale.
