Man struck unconscious and robbed in Crawley Memorial Gardens

A 13-year-old girl has died after she was found at her home in Brighton.

Police said emergency services were called to a property at Islingword Street at 5.45pm on Monday (July, 8), where the girl was discovered.

She was then taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Officers said she has since been named as Minnie Rose Eastman, a pupil at Varndean School in the city.

According to police, fellow students have been advised of her death by the school and offered specialist support.

Officers said there are no suspicious circumstances around her death and the matter has been passed to the coroner for enquiries.

A multi-agency group has been established, including representatives from children’s social care, education and health authorities, to consider the incident.
