Woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following ‘domestic incident’ in Hastings

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Hastings.

Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of attempted murder following a ‘domestic incident’ in Hastings this morning (Thursday, 11), in which a man was left with serious head injuries.

Officers said they responded to the incident at a property in St Helen’s Road around 7am.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where police said he remains in a stable condition.

A 27-year-old local woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, and remains in custody at this time, according to police.

Detective Chief Inspector Alasdair Henry said:

“We believe this is an isolated incident within a flat where the man and woman are known to each other.

“We are not looking for anyone else at this stage.

“We are appealing for anyone who heard or saw anything on Thursday morning to get in contact with us.

“The investigation surrounding the circumstances continues.”
