A jet airliner, loaded with its passengers, has collided with a barrier at Gatwick Airport this morning (Monday, 12).
The airport said the Norwegian Airlines plane hit a noise abatement barrier as it was rolling back from a gate in the South Terminal around 10.30am this morning.
According to the airline, some damage was sustained to the aircraft, which was to be used for Flight DI7017 to New York’s JFK airport.
Passengers were then taken off the aircraft, and transferred to a replacement plane for their journey.
The airport said no injuries were reported.
A spokesperson said:
“The safety and wellbeing of our customers is our top priority and passengers will shortly board a replacement aircraft to continue their journey. We would like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience.”
