Puppy love is in the air in Eastbourne, as two dogs defy convention to tie the knot and ‘marry’ outside a church.

After nine months together, 1-year-old Mr Slovobic and 2-year-old Marmalade – two St Bernards who are paws-itively head over heals for another – have finally taken the the leap.

Proving anything is paw-sible, they barked ‘I do’ at a special ceremony at All Saints’ Church on August 5.

The happy couple managed to avoid any run-ins with the pup-arazzi on the big day, but owner Sjaan Markwick took to social media to share pictures of the newlyweds.

Sjaan, who is from Hailsham, told More Radio:

“The page is to brighten people’s day up as the world has lots of negative things going on if they can make people smile then it’s a good thing..

“If you have the power to make someone happy today…do it the world needs more of that.”

Having found their fur-ever match, the gentle giants are now enjoying life as Mr and Mrs – with fans able to follow their journey via Facebook.
