Man charged with murder following death of pedestrian in Brighton

Crime: a further annual increase across Brighton and Hove

A man has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder following a collision in Brighton just before Christmas.

Police said three men were struck by a BMW X6 car in Marine Parade on December 1.

The incident resulted in the death of one of the pedestrians, a 20-year-old man from Crawley, while the other two men were seriously injured.

The man charged, Iftekhar Khondaker, 33, of Caithness Road in Mitcham, has been remanded in custody to appear before Brighton magistrates tomorrow (Friday, 28).
