A man faces charges today (Thursday, 12) following the rape of a woman in Shoreham last week.

Police said Jordan Murphy, 22, a warehouseman, of Hammy Close, Shoreham, is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court charged with rape.

It’s after a 21-year-old woman was attacked in an alleyway off Middle Road, Shoreham, at about 2.30am on Sunday (March, 8) when she was walking home.

Officers said he was also charged with common assault relating to a separate incident shortly beforehand, just off nearby Old Shoreham Road, in which another 21-year-old woman was grabbed by a man but ran off unharmed.
