Man charged with attempted rape in connection with unconscious woman in Portslade

Firefighters help police detain three men after break-in at business in Hastings

A man has been charged with attempted rape in connection with a report of a woman unconscious in Portslade on Sunday (March, 8).

Police said Peraslingam Nanthvavaraman, 40, of Sheppard Way, Portslade,  was also charged with committing an act with the intention of committing a sexual offence.

It’s after officers arrested the suspect at the scene in Boundary Road at 11.15pm.

Nanthvavaraman is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing on April 9.
