Coronavirus: The latest developments in Sussex (Tuesday, 17)

All the latest news on cancelled or postponed events in Sussex as the county battles the coronavirus outbreak.

Eastbourne DGH & The Conquest Hospital

Restrictions have been put in place for visiting patients at Eastbourne DGH and the Conquest in Hastings in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

The NHS Trust running the two hospitals is asking anyone with flu or cold-like symptoms to stay away, along with under 16s.

Only one visitor is being allowed per patient at any time.

Patients needing to visit A&E are being asked to go alone, or if they need assistance, to only take one person with them.

Anyone who has been tested for coronavirus is asked to stay away.

Eastbourne Speedway

The Eastbourne Eagles have confirmed they have cancelled their press and practice session later this month.

RNLI

Shoreham Lifeboat is closing its station to visitors until further notice.

Meanwhile, Hastings Lifeboats are closing their shop.

Theatres

The White Rock Theatre in Hastings has confirmed they are suspending all events and shows from today in light of government guidance around coronavirus.

They are promising further updates over the coming days, but add the health and wellbeing of all is the most important consideration at this time.

Meanwhile, The Stables Theatre has said it is closing for 48 hours whilst they review the situation.
