Elderly cyclist airlifted to hospital following collision in East Grinstead

An elderly cyclist has been airlifted to hospital with critical injures after colliding with a car in East Grinstead yesterday (Friday, 24).

Police said it’s after emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to Beeching Way just after 11am.

The rider, a 78-year-old local man, was taken to Kings College Hospital in London after suffering multiple injuries in the incident involving a Vauxhall Astra.

Officers said a 55-year-old man from East Grinstead was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
