Ten arrests made in connection with stabbing following group fight in Hastings

Police have arrested ten people – including a teenage boy – following a stabbing in Hastings which left a woman injured.

Officers were called to Queens Road around 1am on Sunday morning (May, 10) following reports a person had been attacked with a knife during an altercation between two groups of people.

The victim – a 25-year-old woman – suffered a knife injury to her leg, and was to hospital for treatment.

A total of ten people – six men, three women and a boy – were arrested in connection with  the incident.

DC Steve Venner said:

“We are urging anyone who witnessed anything to come forward and speak to us about it.

“If you were in the Queens Road area in the early hours of Sunday morning and have any information that may assist with our investigation then we would like to hear from you.

“This was an awful incident in which two people were injured and we’re working to establish the full circumstances of what has taken place.”

Two 20-year-old men, a 19-year-old man, a 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 21-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

A 20-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

All have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
