Man jailed after police chase finds nearly £40,000 worth of perfume from Bognor Boots

A man has been jailed for five years and 10 months after stealing nearly £40,000 worth of perfume from a pharmacy in Bognor.

Police said Justin Goulding, 41, of Grove Road, Portland, admitted offences including burglary, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

It’s after they were alerted by an alarm on September 24, 2019, that was activated at Boots in London Road, at around 10pm.

Officers discovered that someone had forced entry into the front of the premises, and an unknown quantity of toiletries including perfume and aftershave had been stolen.

Police said a white Ford Transit was linked to the scene, and tracked to the M27 near Fareham, where officers from Hampshire Police took over the pursuit of the vehicle, that was reportedly stolen.

It reportedly came to a stop in Honeysuckle Road, Southampton, where Goulding was detained and a search found two large bags with nearly £40,000 worth of fragrances.
